Video: Chevy Sonic Tagging Street Art Robot, Camaro5 Fest

By Matthew Askari | April 20, 2012
Normally, Chevy taking to the inter-webs to promote the new 2012 Chevy Sonic and Chevy Camaro wouldn't catch our fancy, but it has managed to string together a couple of interesting videos, and the production quality is especially noteworthy. Oh, and the Sonic video has a robot tagging up a wall in Oakland. In the first video, interspersed with striking visuals is a modified 2012 Chevy Sonic that has been outfitted with a tagging robot (yes, that's correct). Under the control of muralist Jeff Soto, the robot appears to be making a significant mess, spraying paint and shooting out tennis balls and paint-cans against a perfectly innocent brick wall. When Soto gets involved...well, you'll see. While this smacks of "let's play up on this whole street art thing by corporately sponsoring a muralist," it's still well done and kind of neat.

In the second video, Chevy Camaro owners get to attend their own personal Woodstock. Except instead of featuring Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, and Jefferson Airplane, there are a bunch of Camaros. Again, the production value makes this pretty interesting. And, we'll come clean, there are some pretty cool burnouts at the end.
