Video of the Day: 2012 BMW M5 Rocks Out with its Tail Out

By Jacob Brown | June 21, 2011
We’ve seen the pictures and read the stats sheet on BMW’s upcoming 2012 M5 sport sedan. But now BMW has posted a video of the new car in all of its roaring twin-turbocharged V-8, tail-out glory. Motivated by a BMW’s TwinPower 4.4-liter V-8 sending 560 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the M5 should be good for a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph — 190 mph with the de-limited M Driver’s Package. While the M5 looks to be growing up and growing out as a larger, more refined car than its predecessors, that visceral engine note should dispel any fears that BMW’s fifth-generation super sedan is throwing in the towel to the current kings of the sports sedan ring, the Cadillac CTS-V and Porsche Panamera.

It's too heavy. With that much power, it should be faster than a Mustang GT. Still pretty awesome though.
