Video of the Day: 2012 Chrysler 300 Struts Through Detroit

By Trevor Dorchies | September 21, 2011
Chrysler is hoping the new 2012 300 sedan will make as great an impression as the original model did years ago. While some believe the Chrysler 300 borrows a few styling cues from the Rolls-Royce Phantom, the full-size luxury sedan continues to refine the formula that made it so popular in the first place. That includes talking about the V-6 model’s new eight-speed automatic transmission. The latest commercial for the Chrysler 300 features Detroit locals getting a good glimpse at the boldly styled black sedan rolling through their neighborhood. A new eight-speed transmission now available in the 300 gets a shout-out while the camera focuses on premium details inside the car’s cabin. When Chrysler’s 3.6-liter V-6 engine is mated to the eight-speed automatic transmission in the 2012 300 sedan, EPA-rated fuel economy jumps to 19/31 mpg city/highway, up from 18/27 mpg when the V-6 is mated to the five-speed automatic transmission. Would you be more likely to buy a Chrysler 300 based on these commercials?
