Video of the Day: Roadtripping With the 2012 Kia Sorento and Three Huge Children's Characters

By Zach Gale | June 17, 2011
Kia's crazy trio of life-size children's characters are back in a new set of ads for the refreshed 2012 Sorento crossover.
The three children's characters take a roadtrip in the Kia SUV that was tweaked for the 2012 model year. A new four-cylinder engine with direct-injection technology and a six-speed automatic will help the characters go farther on one tank of fuel. A four-cylinder 2012 Sorento with front-wheel drive can go up to 32 miles per gallon on the highway, an increase from the 29 mpg on last year's model.
After visiting the beach, the trio learns some line dancing, and even tries skydiving. This isn't the first time Kia has used wacky characters to draw attention to the company's new cars. The Kia Soul, also one of the automaker's most popular vehicles in the U.S., uses rapping hamsters to remain memorable.
