Videos of the Day: Adventures in a $300,000 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Driving the BMW 4 Series
The guys who work at the Motor Trend YouTube channel have all the luck. This week, we present "Epic Drives" host Arthur St. Antoine as he pilots the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series through the Pacific Northwest, and "Ignition" host Carlos Lago traveling to Portugal to drive the 2014 BMW 435i coupe. St. Antoine takes the SLS AMG Black Series--an ultra-limited edition, 622-horsepower, $300,000 version of the flagship sports car--through the woods of Oregon. He doesn't get much go-fast time at first because of the famous inclement weather up north, but he continues on, checking out the Spruce Goose, grabbing some famous bacon-covered donuts, meeting up with a local singer, and grabbing a cup o' Joe--all of which are hallmarks of Oregon behind its notable precipitation. Oh yeah, and he finds a new way to melt Oregon's famous Tillamook cheese. Lago, on the other hand, tries to figure out just what is in a name, exploring the country of Portugal in a 2014 BMW 435i, the replacement for the 335i coupe. As you know, BMW is switching all of its coupe and coupe-like models to even numbers. We're done whining about it. That said, we, just like everyone else, want to know if it's any good. Lago takes it around town and on the famous Estoril racetrack to find out. Watch the videos below to get nearly a half-hour fill of fast cars making fast car noises. Source: Motor Trend via YouTube
