Volkswagen Announces Diesel Engine Recall for Potential Fuel Leaks

By Blake Z. Rong | October 06, 2011
Volkswagen has issued a voluntary recall for Jetta ,Jetta Sportwagen, and Golf models for their TDI diesel engines, which could spring a dangerous fuel leak. On TDI-engined cars, enough vibrations over time can cause a crack in one of its fuel lines. No accidents or injuries have been reported yet. VW will inspect and install new fuel lines, and install engine vibration dampers to cut down on future vibration. 159,884 cars total are being recalled. The Jetta and Sportwagen cars affected were built from May 2008 to September 2011, while the Golf was built from May 2009 to September 2011. If you think your car has been affected, please call VW at 1-(800) 822-8987.
