Volvo Gives U.S. Exclusive 2013 C30 Polestar Limited Edition

By Jacob Brown | September 11, 2012
When Volvo split from Ford several years back, something beautiful happened: A burgeoning relationship flourished with Volvo performance tuner Polestar. Sparks flew. High-powered performance cars came from the Swedish automaker better known for safety than fun. Enthusiasts cried tears of joy, watching this partnership blossom. Because Volvo wasn't allowed to develop its own hi-po cars out of the contract it had signed with Ford, Polestar developed special editions for the automaker. The latest one was announced this week: the 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar. Powered by the same turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder that is used in other C30 models, the car makes 250 horsepower now, 23 more than the standard R-Design C30. In addition, the 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar will get 17-inch "Styx" alloy wheels with a matte black finish, Rebel Blue paint, a numbered plaque, leather seats, a power sunroof, power driver's and passenger's seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror, LED running lights, xenon headlights, and keyless entry. It can also be optioned with a 650-watt Dolby sound system, navigation, satellite radio, and a climate package. The 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar will be a quicker, sportier vehicle that's no less fuel-efficient than standard cars: 21 mpg city/29 mpg highway for six-speed manual-equipped vehicles and 21 mpg city/30 highway with the automatic transmission. The C30 Polestar will be limited to just 250 cars exclusively for the U.S., making it one of the rarest Volvo vehicles to grace our shores. Look for the C30 Polestar to start showing up next month with a base price of $32,445, including $895 for shipping and handling. Source: Volvo
