Most noteworthy features for the 2008 Nissan Frontier are the new available package options. Throughout the brand line up, Nissan introduced a series of package options that can be added to many of the available trim packages. Unfortunately, these updated packages can significantly raise the price of your vehicle and some can only be added when bundled with other offers. From splash guards to portable navigation to tow hitch packages and power packages, there are plenty of features available.
The 2008 Nissan continues to offer the classic two body styles: the King Cab or extended cab version and the crew cab. Starting with the King Cab, you can select from the XE, SE, LE, and Nismo trim packages. The base XE offers minimal perks when compared to other packages for this model year. The exterior boasts a chrome grill, steel wheels, and four colors available including Avalanche, Radiant Silver, Red Brawn and Super Black. The Crew Cab model is available with a standard five-foot bed in the SE, LE, and Nismo. The Nismo features many additional exterior attributes including 16-inch alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, and an extended color palette options. Optional six-foot beds are also available on some models in addition to the Ulti-track, which can help secure cargo when on the go.
The XE may be the base level for the 2008 Nissan Frontier, but it is still available with many trim packages that will raise the price along with the consumer's comfort inside the cabin. Consider the XE Preferred Package that includes a stereo system in addition to air-conditioning. The higher SE trim packages includes some of these features standard and also offers package updates including, but not limited to cruise control and full power accessories. The LE and Nismo up the ante by including most of the SE’s optional features standard along with satellite radio and Bluetooth to name a few extra added benefits. Expect to encounter Technology Package and Leather Package updates or available sunroof additions when shoppers explore the LE.
Performance & Handling
Two engines are offered with the 2008 Nissan Frontier: the 2.5-liter four-cylinder and the four-liter V-6. All V-6 Frontier have available two- or four-wheel drive and can reach 261 horsepower with 281 lb-ft torque. The lesser 2.5-liter engine offers only 152 horsepower with 171 lb-ft of torque. If you are searching for a Frontier with towing capacity turn to the V-6, which provides ample power and performance. The fuel economy is above average due to the compact size of pickup and the high-quality engine making the Frontier a practical choice for a work utility vehicle.
All 2008 Nissan Frontiers are equipped with standard anti-lock disc brakes with optional front and full length side curtain airbags. Both the LE and Nismo feature optional safety packages that include benefits such as stability control. Child anchor seats, tire pressure monitoring, front seat belt pretensions, and restraint whiplash protection systems are available on all models. The Frontier was also granted with a ""good"" rating for occupant protection during front crash tests by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety.
