I've owned this car for almost two years and I'm blown away. Upon purchasing this vehicle, it had 40,000 miles on it and it's approaching 70,000 miles. Back in high school when the 5th generation (2000-03) Maxima's came out, I love the styling. My 2010 IMO is the best designed Maxima that Nissan has created. I love the curves, the stance, the LED tail lights, the dual exhaust and the push start. I've never experienced any problems or break downs. The maintenance can be expensive but look at what you got (meaning you're driving a near luxury sedan).
The CVT is the smoothest and I LOVE it. If you're not used tp driving a CVT, it will take a few days to get use to it but it will learn your driving patterns. The gas mileage is 19 city and 26 hwy combined is 22 mpg. Driving this vehicle, my average mpg for the two years of ownership is 21.6 mpg so far. I calculate every fillup by hand and this app called road trip for the iphone. This car requires premium for maximum performance.
The 3.5 v6 VQDE engine sounds so sweet when merging with traffic(good job nissan). I plan on driving this vehicle til I can't put any more money into it. I highly recommend this vehicle to any one who is cross shopping this car with the Toyota Avalon, Ford Taurus, Chevy Impala, Lincoln MKZ, VW Passat, Kia Cadenza. Plus the Maxima has been around since the early 80's compare to other cars in this class.

My husband called me from work last week to inform me that it was finally time to trade in our old car. I was really happy to get this call because I had been bugging him about getting a new car for the past several months.
We sat down together to research several models on the internet. After about two days of searching, we decided on the 2010 Nissan Maxima. My husband chose this car because of Nissan's reputation of producing quality vehicles, while I chose this car because I simply liked the way it drove and looked. We did however have a difference of opinion on color, and eventually narrowed our choices down to red, black and white. Since we could not come up with a mutual decision, we let our kids cast the final vote. The final vote ended up being a black model with a gray cloth interior. We both had a good feeling about purchasing this car from the beginning, because it had so many great details and features. This included great leg room for our growing teenagers, ample seating for the entire family, a good safety lock system and smooth riding on the roads and freeways. In addition, since we are on a very tight budget, we also chose the Nissan Maxima because it had great gas mileage.
Because Nissan has such a great reputation for making quality cars, we expect to keep our Maxima for at least the next ten years.
