Overview

The 1996 Nissan Pickup comes with one engine choice and two transmission choices. The five-speed manual transmission is standard for all four trims, while the four-speed automatic transmission is optional for all models except for the base. The tilting sunroof on the SE stands as an outstanding feature.

Exterior

The 1996 Nissan Pickup base model and XE come with argent grille trim and chrome wheels. The XE also come with a sliding rear window standard, while the regular cab XE includes a rear step bumper as standard equipment. The SE comes with a chrome grille trim, sliding rear window, deep tinted windows, a tilting sunroof, pickup bed liner, and alloy wheels as standard. Deep tinted windows are an option for the king cab XE. Chrome grille trim, black grille trim, and alloy wheels are optional for both XE models.

Interior

The 1996 Nissan Pickup comes with bench front seats for the base model and regular cab XE, and the king cab XE and SE have bucket front seats and jump rear seats. The upholstery is vinyl in the base model and cloth in the other models. The king cab XE and SE also come standard with a partial floor console and two-way driver and front passenger seats.

The 1996 Nissan Pickup SE has a few additional standard features including an AM/FM/Cassette player, air-conditioning, power front windows, a passenger vanity mirror, and a tilt steering wheel with leather trim. The AM/FM/Cassette player is optional for the base model and both XE models. Optional features include air-conditioning, a lighted glove box, front map lights, driver vanity mirror, and a tilt steering wheel for both XE models.

Performance & Handling

The 1996 Nissan Pickup is equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 134 horsepower and 154 lb-ft of torque. Cruise control is optional on the XE and standard on the SE. An anti-roll bar in the front helps to increase stability when cornering.

Safety

The 1996 Nissan Pickup comes with front disc and rear drum brakes. The rear brakes are anti-lock brakes. A driver front impact airbag is standard on all models, but no front passenger airbag is available. Variable intermittent windshield wipers are optional on the XE models and standard on the SE.
