The 2013 Ram Cargo Van is made to get the job done, and get it done in a timely and safe manner. It has increased cargo capacity, as it is longer and wider than previous models, and it is has a commercially-tuned and heavy-duty suspension. Not only can it carry more cargo than its competitors, it makes the cargo easier to access. It has plenty of towing power and is designed to be safe, efficient, and comfortable.

New For 2013

The 2013 Ram Cargo Van has added a few new features for this model year. They include:

  • Wider and longer than previous years models
  • Rear lift gate has an overhead light
  • More towing power and storage space than previous models

Constructed from unified steel, the 2013 Ram Cargo Van is made tough to last. It has extra-large mirrors so the driver can spot trouble in time, and it rolls on all-season extra load capacity tires and wheels. Once cargo is loaded, it is easy to access with dual manual-sliding doors and a gas-powered rear lift gate that is easy to operate. With three ways to access the cargo, it makes the job easier.

This front-wheel-drive cargo van comes fitted with a 3.6-liter, V-6 engine that produces plenty of power while still getting respectable fuel economy. It has heavy-duty rear suspension leveling and independent front strut suspension for a smooth ride no matter how much cargo is on board. It's also easy to drive, as it has a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. It is not without style, with body-colored front and back bumpers and halogen head lamps with complex surface lens. A 12-volt power outlet is available in the front of the van and in the cargo area.

Interior & Cargo

The 2013 Ram Cargo Van has comfortable cloth seats that ease the strain of a long workday. The leather-wrapped, tilt, telescoping steering wheel holds the controls for the audio system so the driver can safely adjust the stereo system. A dual glove compartment and an open bin under the instrument panel offer places to store invoices and work orders.

One of the very best features of the 2013 Ram Cargo Van is a hands-free, high-tech, Bluetooth-ready communications system. The driver can safely and easily talk on the phone and the system has an iPod mobile device connection in the glove box. It also has an AM/FM radio with an MP3 jack so mobile music devices can easily be integrated. A GPS navigation system is installed to save time and money while on the road. An air-conditioning system with an air filtration unit comes in handy on hot summer days. This van is easy to care for, as it has a service interval indicator on the display and will alert the driver when it is time to change the oil and perform other normal maintenance.

The Ram Cargo Van has 144.4 cubic feet of cargo space and has a removable multi-use roof rack kit for additional storage space. The back seats can be folded down or removed to increase cargo area.

The 2013 Ram Cargo Van was designed to surround the driver and passengers with safety equipment. It has a four-wheel anti-lock braking system with electronic stability and traction control and electronic brake force distribution. Advanced multi-stage front airbags deploy at different speeds, depending on the severity of a collision. It also comes with standard side-curtain airbags for every seating row in the van. A safety option that is available is the Parkview Rear Back Up camera for easier and safer maneuvering while in reverse.

It has power steering and a tire pressure monitoring system that will alert the driver if the air pressure on any of the four tires is reaching a critical level and needs attention. A keyless entry system adds to the safety and security factor and an anti-theft system will keep the van and its contents safe from prying eyes and sticky fingers.

Driving Experience

The 3.6-liter, V-6 engine delivers 14/18 mpg city/highway and has a 20-gallon tank to give this van a range of up to 500 miles. It can tow up to one and a half tons. The seven-way trailer harness is fast and easy to hook up, and options such as a behind-the-seat cargo wall gives the driver and passenger extra protection from shifting cargo.

This is not your dad's cargo van – it is built for driver and passenger comfort and a smooth ride. Captain's chairs are available for both the front driver and passenger seats and a cloth interior is soft to the touch and pleasing to the eye. Cruise control with buttons on the steering wheel makes longer trips much more enjoyable. Overall, this van handles well and does the job it is intended to do very effectively.
