All Astra's run with either a standard five-speed manual or with an optional four-speed automatic transmission. That may not be enough for you speed demons. The Saturn Astra is a five-door hatchback that comes in two models, the XE and the XR. However, the three-door hatchback is also an option that only comes in the XR model. The XE model comes standard with four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, 16-inch steel wheels and a bunch of other featuresl. It also comes equipped with a tilt and telescoping steering wheel and power mirrors. The windows and doors lock with remote without using a key. This feature is perfect for those who have trouble finding the key whole at night and etc. The four-door XR model, further includes speed-sensing steering, fog lights, alloy wheels, air conditioning and an upgraded audio system for you loud music players. Also, the two-door XR model further includes an electronic traction and stability control and 17-inch alloy wheels with performance tires, seems like a race car to me. The Astra, which is already popular in Europe, provides five-passenger seating in a front-wheel drive hatchback design. This would not be the suggested car for a family due to it's overall size but I must say it is pretty fuel efficient. Basically it's affordable. However, though this sounds great, especially for it's price there are some cons to this car that follow behind these basic pros. If you are looking for a spacious trunk, this car is not for you. If you are like myself and you like the more sporty model cars this car treads the boarder line
