The
2010 Scion xD is a hatchback with newer styling but the cabin is still too small and cargo capacity is restricted. The xD is equipped with a 1.8-liter four cylinder engine paired to either four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission.
The Scion xD offers only 10.5 cubic feet of cargo space, and that's if the back seats are in the upright position. With acceptable safety ratings, the xD gets only 27 mpg city / 33 mpg highway, in fuel economy, which is mediocre compared to the competition.

On the Outside
Slightly boxier-looking than its predecessor, the jelly-bean-shaped xA, the Scion's xD has a front end that is similar to that of the Toyota Yaris.
From the Inside
While the Scion xD has a versatile interior that provides plenty of passenger space, it has just 10.5 cubic feet of cargo volume with the rear seats up.
Driving Performance
The Scion xD's 1.8-liter I-4 engine puts out 128 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque, which is good enough to move the small hatchback around without compromising fuel economy, but doesn't enkindle any enthusiasm, either.
Safety Equipment
The Scion xD's safety features include active head restraints, dual front airbags, front side-impact airbags, and side-curtain airbags for both front- and rear-seat passengers. Also standard are anti-lock brakes, traction control, and stability control.
