The 2008 Subaru Tribeca mid-sized crossover SUV has been refreshed inside and out with a new front end, larger, more powerful engine, and a host of other updates.
The edgy styling of the seven passenger interior has been carried over, with minor improvements made for better access to the rear seats. The Tribeca's new rear suspension setup delivers a ride that is softer than earlier Tribecas but still stable and responsive.
The new, more powerful engine is a 256 horsepower 3.6 liter horizontally opposed-6. Power is sent through an updated 5-speed automatic transmission to standard full-time all wheel drive.
Fuel economy is listed at 16 miles per gallon city, 21 miles per gallon highway.
Base MSRP for the 2008 Subaru Tribeca is $29,995. Fully loaded, the price can break $40,000. The Tribeca is protected by a 5-year, 60,000-mile power train warranty.
With updated styling, a more powerful engine, and a sub $30,000 price tag, the redesigned 2008 Subaru Tribeca is an attractive choice in the mid-size crossover SUV segment.
