The
2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara is a compact crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) offered in four trims: Base, Premium, XSport, and Limited. Powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine or a 3.2-liter V-6 engine, the Suzuki Grand Vitera comes with rear- or four-wheel drive. The 2.4 can be paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic, while the V-6 comes with a five-speed automatic transmission.
Even though not grand in size, the Grand Vitara is a great off road performer, with each trim focused on greater off-road capabilities and highway driving comfort. While the base Grand Vitara is fairly Spartan, higher trims offer features such as climate control and a Garmin Navigation system. Safety systems are acceptable, and the fuel economy is as well, at 19 mpg city / 26 mpg highway.
New for 2010
For 2010, the Suzuki Grand Vitara received only minor changes. Updates include: navigation system is standard across all trim levels, Bluetooth is offered on all but the Base trim, and an auxiliary audio jack is standard on the higher trim levels.

On the Outside
The Suzuki Grand Vitara is chunky and plain but still versatile and emphasizes function over form.
From the Inside
The Suzuki Grand Vitara's cabin is plain with lots of plastic; however, interior space is good and the seats are comfortable, while the controls and instrumentation are easy to read.
Driving Performance
Not as comfortable to drive as most crossovers, the Suzuki Grand Vitara's base four-cylinder combined to the four-speed automatic is truly anemic. However, the six-cylinder is a bit livelier, at the expense of poorer fuel economy. Nevertheless, as a four-wheel drive compact SUV, the Grand Vitara's off-road capability is above average.
Safety Equipment
Standard safety equipment on the Suzuki Grand Vitara include driver and front passenger front, side, and side-curtain airbags, as well both traction and stability control.
