The 2008 Toyota Avalon is a simple and practical sedan. It comes with many new features including appearance and function upgrades. The exterior and interior features make this a highly-customizable vehicle. Performance and handling are as to be expected on this type of car, and safety features are exceptional. Fuel economy is average. This is a great choice for an everyday, around-town car, and few are disappointed with the series.

The 2008 Toyota Avalon comes with a six-speed automatic transmission upgraded from last year’s five-speed automatic. All models include new headlamps, a new front fascia, and a smaller keyless remote. The Limited edition adds new chrome door handles. The wood-grain and metallic surface treatments are updated. A nine-speaker audio system, MP3-compatible six-CD changer, and auxiliary audio jacks are now standard on all models except the Limited. The XLS and Limited models get an eight-way power front passenger seat with the Limited adding Bluetooth technology. Also new on all models are larger brakes.
The 2008 Toyota Avalon comes in nine exterior colors. The exterior features include color-keyed bumpers and power mirrors, multi-reflector headlamps with an auto-on and -off feature, daytime running lights, high solar energy absorbing glass, and washer-linked, variable intermittent windshield wipers. The Limited model comes with a 360-watt JBL Synthesis audio system with twelve speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, power rear sunshade, wood- and leather-trimmed shift knob and steering wheel, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and driver and passenger seat heaters and cooling fans.
Performance & Handling
The 2008 Toyota Avalon comes with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine rated at 268 horsepower, which provides for 248 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and sequential shift. The vehicle is front-wheel drive and features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a Dual-link MacPherson rear suspension. Both the front and back have stabilizer bars. The brakes are power ventilated for the front and have solid rear disc brakes. The steering is engine-speed-sensing, variable-assisted, power rack-and-pinion.
