I bought the 2011 model year Toyota FJ Cruiser in January of last year. I'd been looking for a well-built, dependable SUV that could handle both life out in the country (we live on the lake) and still tote the kids and dogs around town. This vehicle fits the bill to a tee! I love the comfort, first of all. The interior looks a lot like a standard truck, but is so much more cushy! It has all the connectivity I need for my iPod, along with Bluetooth, XM stereo and the requisite USB port. The seats are comfortable and water resistant- a huge bonus with messy kids! The rear-parking assist is a feature I never dreamed I'd love so much! The Cruiser's exterior is just plain cool-looking. It reminds me of one of those vehicles out on a trek in the desert that just keep going, no matter what. Gas mileage is a bit of a drawback, and the only real complaint I have about the vehicle. I've averaged a little bit less than the stated 17 city/20 highway, but I do a lot of stop and go driving, so that's really no surprise. The Cruiser is easy to drive, it actually surprised me how well it handles the road. The towing power is more than enough to handle getting our boat in and out of the water, there is a ton of room to haul groceries and luggage and the safety features definitely pass the "mom" test!
