1995 Toyota Tercel Review

A dependable vehicle with plenty going for it.

Reviewed by Automotive on

Like many of Toyota’s other products, the 1995 Tercel offers dependability and convenience. While it doesn’t have the power or over-the-top looks of some its competitors, the Tercel makes a nice, reliable car purchase. Because of its compact size and good fuel economy, it is especially good for daily commuters and city dwellers.

The Range

What's New

The 1995 Toyota Tercel was redesigned. While it was still based on the previous generation, it did see some improvements. The whole line was offered with height adjustable seatbelts and improved engines. It also has standard dual airbags. The sedan only has one trim level: the DX.

The 1995 Toyota Tercel is a good looking car with plenty of attractive features. This isn’t the car to expect head turning from, but it does have a distinctive front end and grille with rectangular headlights and the Toyota logo in the center of the grille. The sturdy frame sits on 13-inch wheels.

The 1995 Toyota Tercel tried to keep things as nice and comfortable as possible for families and the professionals. The cabin features cloth bucket seats in the front and optional cassette or CD audio system. Also optional for this model is a center console and air-conditioning.

Performance & Handling

The 1995 Toyota Tercel was offered with only on engine choice, while there were several transmission choices to consider. The engine offers plenty of power for the smaller car’s needs. In terms of transmission, the various manual and automatic choices are varied in order to meet the needs of different drivers. Overall, it performs well under most circumstances and is considered to be a dependable vehicle. The 1.5-liter, four-cylinder motor provides 93 hp and 100 lb-ft of torque.

Safety features are an important part of the 1995 Toyota Tercel as well. Front driver and passenger airbags are standard as well as the power brakes. Offered as safety options for this model include four-wheel ABS and an anti-theft alarm system.
