The Chevrolet Impala has been without a doubt one of the most popular models ever conceived and built. From the late 1950s to 1966 this model sold more units of a full size car than any other in history. Over 13 million units were sold during this time. The model has been in almost constant production since it first showed up in 1958. In 1965 the Impala model sold in excess of one million units, which is an all time record. This Chevy winner was doing well every year until the gas crisis of the middle 1970s. Large model cars became an unwanted car and the Impala was no exception. Since then it has become a much smaller car, but still with classy style. Chevy has been riding the Impala name for many years and as long as the style holds up, the name will still mean something to the buyers.
