The Ford Five Hundred, first manufactured in 2005, offers a family friendly and fuel friendly alternative to SUVs. Using the Volvo S80 as a base, the Ford Five Hundred boasts not only the all wheel drive option, but also the excellent safety. A V6 engine offers fuel efficiency, and an automatic transmission is standard. This full size sedan earned top safety ratings in all tests, and has both front and side impact airbags. The base SEL version includes cloth upholstery, a CD player, and 17 inch wheels. The Limited includes 18 inch wheels, an upgraded CD changer, leather upholstery and power adjustable seats with a memory feature. Optional features include a DVD entertainment system much appreciated by parents, as well as reverse parking sensors and a navigation system.
