Ford GT Information
As Ford's centennial year approached, the company was looking forward to a drive toward showcasing and even reviving some of its 'heritage' names like the Mustang and the Thunderbird. Camilo Pardo, who is the head of Ford's 'Living Legends' studio, worked under the guidance of J Mays to design the newly released Ford GT, which drew heavily on the design of the historic Ford GT40 racing cars of the 1960's. The original concept cars were shown on the 2002 auto circuit, and overwhelming positive response convinced Ford to release the GT as a production car in extremely limited quantities. The first of these production cars appeared in 2003, and the model was sold from the 2005 model year through the 2007 year to those lucky enough to get their hands on one. The Ford GT is a throwback to the racing days, with extreme performance and a super ride.
