In 1999, General Motors introduced the Pontiac Montana to replace the Trans Sport. Looking like a Sport Utility Vehicle but functioning like a minivan, the Montana is available in Regular Wheelbase (RW) and Extended Wheelbase (EW) models with 17-inch steel wheels. Powered by a 3.9L V6 engine for 240 horsepower with four-speed automatic transmission, the Montana also utilizes Variable Valve Timing that maximizes engine efficiency for a more reactive engine. The four-wheel steer Montana comes with standard features of StabiliTrak' chassis control system; Smooth Ride Suspension; four-wheel Anti-lock Braking System, and traction control, according a smooth drive in any condition. A highlight of the Pontiac Montana is its OnStar' (' 2007 OnStar Corporation) technology for in-vehicle security, turn-by-turn navigation and hands-free communication.
