Pontiac Solstice Information
The two-door, two-passenger Pontiac Solstice roadster was introduced in 2006. Its Convertible trim is fitted with a twin-cam, four-valve-per-cylinder 2.4L ECOTEC I4 engine for 177 horsepower. This is mated with Variable Valve Timing for improved engine performance. The GXP model is equipped with 2.0L Turbo ECOTEC I4 direct fuel engine for 260 horsepower. Standard features on the Solstice are 18-inch aluminum wheels for better traction; a racing-derived front and rear suspension of forged aluminum wishbone for improved handling, and five-speed overdrive manual gearbox for ease of gear shifts while accelerating or taking turns with an option for five-speed overdrive automatic transmission. Together with a power rack-and-pinion steering system, the Solstice offers agile steering and provides superior driver and road connection. Complementing the power of the Pontiac Solstice are classy details such as a height adjuster in the driver's seat and enhanced lateral support in sport bucket seats for easing extended journeys, as well as a weather-proof Haartz' canvas roof with insert rear glass window.
