The Volkswagen Touareg is the result of the cooperation of Volkswagen and Porsche, both of which wanted to introduce a luxury SUV into the market. The cooperation of these two legendary names in the auto industry led to the creation of this mid sized SUV and its cousin, the Porsche Cayenne. The Touareg is a capable off-road vehicle, and features options like air suspension that can raise the vehicle to go over rough terrain yet still handling like a sports car on the road.
