As the Ford Motor Company approached her centennial year, the company began a push toward redesigning and showcasing many of the 'heritage' cars, releasing a limited edition Ford GT and redesigning several other cars including the Thunderbird and, of course, the Mustang. The first Ford Mustang was produced in 1964, and this incredible pony car became a symbol of status and power immediately. These classic cars were raced by young men all over the United States, and were a statement about those who owned them. They have since seen plenty of redesigns, and the fifth generation of Ford Mustang was born for the centennial redesign. This retro-futuristic design is a little bit of everything, with modern styling meeting classic design in this throwback to the original muscle car. The brand new Ford Mustang was released in 2004 for the 2005 model year, and remains a powerful part of the Ford line.
