Ford is a company in the automotive industry that was first founded in June of 1903 by Henry Ford. The Ford Company has its headquarters based in Dearborn, Michigan and currently offers its vehicles on a worldwide level. Currently, the Ford Motor Company has a number of subsidiaries and it serves as a parent company for, Automotive Components Holdings, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Volvo. The Ford Company also retains a number of different divisions including the Ford Credit division, the Ford division, the Lincoln division, the Mercury division and the Premier Automotive Group. A company that began with as little as 28 thousand dollars in 1903, now generates an income that is easily in the billions. The company has proven so successful that they have been identified as one of the major three automobile manufacturers in the world today. Famous Fords include the Model A, the Model T, and the Ford Thunderbird. Today, Ford continues to manufacture both cars and trucks. Recently, Ford has added several hybrids to the list as the company looks for ways to manufacture vehicles that offer safer environmental alternatives.
