Volkswagen enters its second year in the "4-door coupe" market with its sporty CC. The functionality of 4-seats and 4-doors is met with a sharply raked roof and overall coupe-like proportions.
The base engine for the 2010 CC is a 200 horsepower 2-liter turbocharged inline 4. Power is sent to the front wheels through either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
An available 3.6-liter V6 puts out 280 horsepower and sends power to the front wheels or available 4MOTION all wheel drive through a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Here are the highest and lowest EPA fuel economy estimates:
The upscale interior of the CC can be outfitted with the available technology package that includes a navigation and entertainment system. Located in the center console, the one touch screen operates everything from maps to the Dynaudio premium sound system.
Base MSRP for the 2010 Volkswagen CC is $27,550. A VR6 4MOTION model will start at $40,155. The CC is backed by a 5-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
While the 4-door coupe market is relatively new and dominated by more expensive cars, the Volkswagen CC continues to make in-roads with a formula based on quality, style and value.
