Hot hatchback with posh interior and capable driving dynamics

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2010 Volkswagen GTI is a compact hatchback that is available in two- and four-door configurations. Outfitted with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four engine, the Volkswagen GTI offers a choice of a six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) dual-clutch automated manual transmission or a six-speed manual transmission.

Boasting fun and exhilarating driving, the Volkswagen GTI is athletic, speedy, and attractive. In addition, the GTI is also fuel efficient when compared to other cars in its class, with a 23 mpg city / 30 mpg highway EPA rating. The GTI's posh cabin materials are of the highest quality and road handling is smooth and competent, while crash test scores are top-notch.

Redesigned for 2010, the Volkswagen GTI boasts new exterior and interior styling, along with higher quality cabin materials and touch-screen controls for both audio and Bluetooth.
