The
2010 Volkswagen Jetta is an affordable compact car that is available in an array of body/trim configurations: S Sedan, SE Sedan, SEL Sedan, TDI Sedan, Limited Edition Sedan, Wolfsburg Edition Sedan, SportWagen S Wagon, SportWagen SE Wagon, SportWagen TDI Wagon.
All of the S, Limited, and SE trim levels, as well as the SEL Sedan, are powered by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine coupled to a five-speed manual, while a six-speed automatic with manual shift control is optional. The Wolfsburg Edition sedan is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a standard six-speed manual, while the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) dual-clutch automated manual transmission is optional. Finally, the TDI is propelled by a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine mated to the same six-speed manual and DSG transmission choices as the Wolfsburg.
The Jetta offers a great family sedan, while the SportWagen is clearly oriented toward families, boasting plenty of room for passengers and cargo, and towing capabilities as well. All in all, the Jetta delivers versatility at a great price. Fuel economy isn't bad at 23 mpg city / 30 mpg highway, and safety scores are above average.

On the Outside
Claiming refreshingly simple styling with a hint of sport, the Volkswagen Jetta is far from boring and even looks "European trendy."
From the Inside
The Volkswagen Jetta interior is distinguished by excellent ergonomics, simplicity, and quality materials.
Driving Performance
Sporty and nimble on the road, the Volkswagen Jetta suffers slightly from a heavy steering feel that is distinctively Teutonic. While the 2.5-liter engine makes for somewhat sluggish transport, the torque of the 2.0-liter TDI trim is exciting. Because the DSG transmission is a bit weaker with the diesel engine than it is with VW's 2.0-liter turbo gas engine, the manual transmission is a better choice.
Safety Equipment
Standard safety features on the Volkswagen Jetta include front, side curtain and side thorax airbags for the driver and front passenger, while side thorax airbags are optional for rear passengers. Also standard are traction and stability control.
Gas Mileage
