The Volvo S80 was a high-performance, classy vehicle with rounded features, a V-shaped bonnet, an abrupt rear cut-off, and large taillights, which in an interesting turn of events became the company’s flagship sedan. The earliest editions were 204 hp and 272 hp engines, putting it amongst the fastest-moving vehicles on the market at the time.

The 2005 Volvo S80 has maintained Volvo’s intense concern with the details of safety, and it competes strongly in both the sedan and luxury sedan arena. The S80 is a luxury four-door, five-passenger midsize sedan that features plenty of power and safety features. The S80 has retained some of the features of its predecessors over the years, and in keeping with new safety and performance-enhancing technology, has continued to up its game.

The 2005 Volvo S80 has distinct body color moldings, modified grills, and chrome trim.

The 2005 Volvo S80 2.5 T comes with 16-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires and a mounted temporary spare tire fitted in the trunk cavity. It also features a notable chrome grill and cargo tie-downs to simplify towing of sporting equipment such as bikes or boats. The Volvo S80 T6 and the Volvo S80 T6 Premier come with 17-inch wheels and are fitted with a power glass sunroof. The Volvo S80 T6 Premier adds rain-sensing wipers, and run-flat tires are available as an option. .


The 2005 Volvo S80 features cloth front bucket seats, a height-adjustable driver’s seat with eight-way power and lumbar support, a front console with storage, and split-folding rear seats that feature a folding center console, allowing for more room in the rear. The vehicle comes with power doors, heated power mirrors, cruise control, and a leather-covered, tilt-telescopic steering wheel with power steering and mounted audio controls.

The interior of the 2005 Volvo S80 comes with additional storage spaces such as cup holders in the rear and in the back, climate control, and the dash is decorated with simulated wood. Luxury settings on the Volvo S80 include three-driver memory settings, while the driver is given several indicators such as a clock, tachometer, trip computer, and an outside temperature display.

For entertainment, the 2005 Volvo S80 comes with an AM/FM radio with a CD player and eight speakers, and a DVD-based navigation system with a seven-inch screen for DVDs, TV, or video games. The Volvo S80 T6 has leather, height-adjustable bucket seats in the front, and eight-way, power-adjustable passenger seats with lumbar support. The interior has wood and leather finish on the steering wheel, and wood trim ion the doors, on the center console, and on the gear shift knob.

Other luxury features on the 2005 Volvo S80 are the interior electromagnetic rearview mirror, and the remote transmitter for garage doors or security systems. It also comes with keyless entry, and a remote-control DVD player with a video monitor and separate rear audio control. Optional features on the Volvo S80 include a six-disc CD player, satellite radio, and a voice-controlled navigation system.

The 2005 Volvo S80 has a five-speed automatic transmission with a base, 2.5 liter, five-cylinder engine that offers208-hp at 5000 rpm hp and 236 lb-ft at 1500 rpm torque.

The Volvo S80’s four-wheel independent suspension provides a smooth ride and ample power under the hood, guaranteeing quick starts and even quicker movement from one place to the next. Four-wheel Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS) coupled with traction control make maneuvering corners easy and safe with this machine.


The 2005 Volvo S80 features ventilated front disc and solid disc rear brakes, electronic brake force distribution, ABS, and traction control. The front seats of the Volvo S80 come with head restraints with whiplash protection, and side-mounted airbags in front to protect passengers from side-impacts. The S80 includes standard airbags on all the seats.

The rear seat features child seat anchors, rear-door child safety locks, and for day-to-day safety, the vehicle is fitted with an engine immobilizer and an emergency trunk release lever on the inside of the trunk. For safer driving and optimum visibility, the vehicle includes front fog lights, a defogger on the rear window, and an optional Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) that makes the driver aware of objects in blind spots via a rearview mirror warning light.
